The thirst project is a group of young students who want to change the lives of millions of people. This group of people started this prject in their school when one of their friends told him the rough life he had when he was a kid. He told them about how he had to walk approximately 6 miles for water. That is when they became concerned about the water problem.
The problem many families in places like Swaziland, Guatemala, and many more is that people have to travel a long distance to get water. The water is not even clean its dirty. So many of these kids get infected with parasites that are in the water. For example, Guinea Worm is a worm that starts from a parasite no one can see with the naked eye but once inside the body it grows.
The solution to this problem is to create a well that can provide water that is clean to the people near that region. Another pro on creating a well is that kids or women dont have to walk 6 miles to get dirty water for their families.
A well can cost up to 8000 to 15000 dollars to create a well depending on the place they want to put it in, but it can cause many good things. One way it helps to create a well is because kids can actually go to school and have an education instead of spending your day to get water. Another outcome it has is that most of the population starts to decrease on the illness.
